Salmon Beach is located on the shores of Barkley Sound approximately halfway between Ucluelet and Toquart Bay, near Pacific Rim National Park.
The turnoff to Salmon Beach is on scenic Highway 4 near Kennedy Lake and is called Toquart Bay Road (also known as Maggie Lake Forest Service Road). Look for the Salmon Beach Signs. This is a gravel road - graded six times a year for year-round use. The total distance from Highway 4 is only 18 km – providing a remote, but easily accessible, recreational haven.

Salmon Beach is approximately 4 ½ hours from Victoria and 2 ½ - 3 hours from both Nanaimo and the Comox Valley. To get to salmon Beach take the Highway 4 exit (north of Parksville) and continue toward Pacific Rim National Park. Look for the Salmon Beach Sign at the Toquart Bay Road turnoff near Kennedy Lake.
From The MainlandTake either the Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay ferry or the Tsawwassen-Duke Point ferry to Nanaimo then proceed North up highway 19 and take the Highway 4 exit (north of Parksville) and continue toward Pacific Rim National Park. Look for the Salmon Beach Sign at the Toquart Bay Road turnoff near Kennedy Lake. The total travel time is around 4 ½ hours including ferry.
From Alberta and BeyondFly into either the Victoria, Nanaimo or Comox international airport. Westjet now offers direct flights to Comox airport from both Calgary and Edmonton making it effortless to get to Vancouver island from Alberta. If driving, drive to Vancouver and take either the Horseshoe Bay-Departure Bay ferry or the Tsawwassen-Duke Point ferry to Nanaimo. Proceed Northbound on highway 19. Take the Highway 4 exit (north of Parksville) and continue toward Pacific Rim National Park. Look for the Salmon Beach Sign at the Toquart Bay Road turnoff near Kennedy Lake.
